It's coming soon. I can feel it and smell it. FALL is arriving. My most favorite time of year. There is nothing like the change of season in Bucks County, PA. Nothing! I love the months of October and November and our annual trips here and here.
We married in October and I always, always wanted a pumpkin baby. But things were never timed correctly and we received a winter and a summer baby. (I'm not complaining!) But never that little pumpkin baby, (unless you count the giant pumpkin shaped belly that I carried with each one). and it was BIG. all in front and round. I'll have to dig and scan some pregger photos. I guess I craved a fall baby for the chance to have spooky birthday parties, or just because I can't get enough of all the colors and smell of burning leaves. I'm really not sure, but I'm in love with it all.
Tell me, do you have any pumpkin babies? fall weddings? autumn rituals? decorating tips? I would love to hear what fall is like where you call home.

lovely post esp about the babies..happy fall!

A Fall wedding (Oct. 11) . . . 12 years this year.
A Fall bday (me - Nov. 12).
A new Fall baby? Sept. 1 this year . . . unless that's too early to count as a Fall baby, but he's still so new, and Fall has definitely arrived. And I'm loving it. Big brothers are both winter babies . ..
I'm in Ohio, not too far from you, but I think I heard some folks in your neck of the woods had snow this weekend???

Living in New Hampshire, there is all kinds of rituals we like to do. Highland Games in the White Mountains, Prepping our goods( Crafts, Art, Flowers, Veggies, Baked Goods, Etc) to show off at the Deerfield Fair. Just got back picking up my grandmothers knitting from the fair. Big old Harvest moon lighting our way to the fair. Picking apples at the local orchard on a dead end dirt road. Pure bliss!!!!!
My husband is a pumpkin baby(Nov)and we held our wedding reception in Oct. I wanted Mums everywhere with a fire place going in the background. The actually wedding was New Years Eve. I can't imagine a better season!

I wanted my son to be born on Halloween so he could be a Halloween baby so badly but that kid did just NOT want to come out. He was born several days and 39 hours of labor later (told he didn't want out) I never thought of him as a pumpkin baby until now! yeah! I have a "pumpkin baby!"

Tara, I live in Florida so don't really get fall here. However for one weekend every October we have our family reunion in Mississippi. Sometimes we get lucky and have fall like weather.
I wanted to congratulate you on your book. I bought it and discovered this whole new world. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed checking out all the blogs and discovered some really amazing quilt blogs. Motivated me to start me own. So thanks. It has been so much fun.

Hi Tara,
I love your blog and photos. Very beautiful. My husband and I were married on October 7th also! This coming anniversary will be 31 years for us...:)
Our oldest daughter's birthday is on October 14th, she was born right after our second anniversary. When she was in school I made homemade cupcakes frosted with orange frosting and topped each one with a Brach's candy pumpkin to share with her classmates. She still talks about how eating those candies makes her have warm childhood memories. We love the Fall! (This might be a repeat comment possibly, the one I just posted didn't seem to take. Will try it again...crossing my fingers! :))

Hi Tara,
Lovely blog, and photos. My Dear Hubby and I got married on October 7th (will be 31 years this month...woohoo!). Our first Daughter (we have three) was born on October 14th, right after our second anniversary. Fall has always been a very special season for our family. We have always celebrated our Daughter's birthday with orange frosted cake (or cupcakes) topped with the little Brach's pumpkin mellowcreme candies which we brought to her school classroom every year to share with everyone.
