Well, we didn't take a train. But my butt wished we did, since it fell asleep during the drive. We took TWO packed cars to drop my niece off at her first year of college. My sis rode with me in my packed to the hilt SUV, and the new college student rode with her daddy. Umm, yeah it was a long drive. But a beautiful one. Crossing rivers, going through tunnels, over bridges, and the mountains...oh my the mountains!
She was cool as a cucumber. I knew she would be. I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck when it was my turn (many moons ago) making my own college road trip.
Her dorm room gave me deja vu. In a good way. Sort of .."aww... I wish I could start again"

The campus is beautiful. So is her roommate. Something tells me these two are going to turn some heads.

With all the technology today, they got to know each other pretty well over the summer..facebook, texting, ichat, spending time together shopping and went to a concert, etc. It was nice to be able to do this since they both live 3 hours away from each other. I hope they stay close. I didn't with my college roommate. She stole my underwear and my quarters for the laundry. That story should be saved for a different post.
Omg. The clothes these two brought. Unpacking was non-stop. Was it all really necessary? cause my feet were aching..

But my niece redeemed herself and I made it onto her memory board filled with photos from home. She really loves me, I thought. (or she really loves the way she looks in the photo) Regardless, I made it. So I feel cool.

And my sister and brother-in law said goodbye to their only child, the one they still refer to as "baby". ie: "Where's baby?" "Hi, baby", "Did baby call?" etc..
And now it's just the two of them...

"How boring" my sister said.
